A very special 1983 UR Quattro, having had a very wide ranging restoration by Allard Sports Cars, during 2020-2022, with a complete strip down and rebuild. New components only where the original items could not be suitably repaired or reconditioned.
The only significant change from the original Audi factory specification is the fitting of a high quality stainless steel exhaust system and aluminium under tray.
A comprehensive photo file will be supplied, which shows in detail the restoration process throughout.
To the best of our knowledge there has been no crash damage throughout the life of the car, apart from a minor bump at the rear.
The car has been resprayed with front and rear screens removed. The interior is excellent, but the engine bay and under the car is almost as new, with new fuel and brake pipes, suspension and subframes were resprayed and fittings cadmium plated.
Overall the car looks as if it has done less than 50,000.
It was decided to carryout a full engine rebuild. Piston rings, main and big end bearings, oil pump, water pump, cam and power steering belts and all gaskets. A new clutch is fitted - valves lapped in.
The cylinder head has been stripped and refaced, reassembled and the followers reshimed. Fitted with new injectors.
The interior shows little sign of wear and is in excellent condition generally and is all 1983 original including the 'Blaupunkt' radio.
Underneath, the car is in spotlessly almost new condition, as is the engine bay area. Where required all components have been replaced or cleaned and checked.
New fuel pump and fuel lines, new dampers and top mounts have been fitted. Front and rear subframes have been primed and painted gloss black. All bushes have been renewed, many fittings cadmium and zinc plated.
All brake discs have done very little mileage since renewal. Calipers are serviced and have new pads. All new brake lines, wheel cylinders, brake back plates and fittings.
A new battery is fitted. A new steering rack and bushes.
The new tyres are mounted on original refurbished and silver painted wheels, which have been rebalanced.
There are many other smaller bits which have been renewed.
In summary, this car would be ideal for a collector or for a long term investor, as all the hard work has been done.
It is sold with a comprehensive photos file showing the restoration process.
